SMPTE2022-5/6 Video Over IP Receiver - XAPP1259/XAPP1199 - What process should I use to change the Match Header on the RX?

Description

I am trying to change the Match Header (IP Source/Destination Address, UDP Source/Destination Port, VLAN, SSRC) on both Primary and Secondary links.

What are the correct steps?

Solution

While changing register value for the Match Header (IP Src/Dest,UDP Src/Dest,VLAN or SSRC) on the RX after RX is initialized, you should follow the steps described below (in order):

For Single Link :

  1. Set match_sel (0xB4) register to 0
  2. Disable the Channel, set 0 at bit0 chan_en (0x100) register
  3. Configure the updated matching headers (IP Src/Dest, UDP Src/Dest, VLAN or SSRC)
  4. Set match_sel(0xB4) register with desired match configuration.
  5. Enable the channel. Set 1 at bit1 chan_en (0x100) register.
Note: While setting the channel register, send a pulse to bit1 of the control (0x0) register for the channel register to get updated.

For Two Links (Primary and Secondary) :

  1. Set match_sel (0xB4) register to 0 for Primary Link
  2. Set match_sel (0xB4) register to 0 for Secondary Link
  3. Disable the Channel for Primary Link
  4. Disable the Channel for Secondary Link
  5. Configure the Header for Primary Link
  6. Configure the Header for Secondary Link
  7. Set Match Select (0xB4) to current configuration for Primary Link
  8. Set Match Select (0xB4) to current configuration for Secondary Link
  9. Enable the Channel for Primary Link
