HDMI Receiver Subsystem v2.0 (Rev. 1) - Why does the output result in distorted colors when switching color depths?

Description

Why does the output result in distorted colors when switching color depths?

Solution

This is a known issue that can occasionally be seen when switching from 8-bits to 10-bit or 12-bit color of the same resolution.

Switching modes again (either resolution or bit width) usually fixes the issue.

This issue is resolved in the HDMI Receiver Subsystem in Vivado 2016.3 and later.
