Description

Why does the HDMI Receiver Subsystem fail HDCP authentication with some Samsung Blu-Ray Players?

This issue affects the 2016.2 and 2016.3 HDMI Receiver Subsystem and the Video PHY Controller.

Solution

This is a known issue that affects the following Blu-Ray Players:

  • Samsung BD-H6500/ZC
  • Samsung BD-C6900/XAC

This issue is resolved in the updated Video PHY Controller in Vivado 2016.4 and later when fast switching is enabled.

Note: Vivado 2016.3 users should update to Vivado 2016.4 where all of the relevant fixes have been fully tested.

Note: Vivado 2016.2 users will need the following hardware and software patches in order to work around this issue.

If at all possible it is recommended that users update to Vivado 2016.4 where more extensive regression testing has occurred.
