HDCP 1.x - Why do I see "snow" when switching between HDCP 2.2 and HDCP 1.4 with the Muridio Generator?

Description

Why do I see "snow" when switching between HDCP 2.2 and HDCP 1.4 with the Muridio Generator?

Solution

This is a known issue which is specific to the Muridio Generator.

The problem is that the Muridio Generator does not follow the HDCP Specification and starts to send the encrypted data before verifying that the sink is ready to receive.

Muridio will be fixing this in a future release.

We have added a work-around to this issue in the Vivado 2016.4 HDCP 1.x Software driver.

Note: Vivado 2016.3 users should see (Xilinx Answer 68157) for a patch.
