DisplayPort Receiver Subsystem v2.0 (Rev. 3) - Why does training timeout when using a DisplayPort Receiver Subsystem MST design on some sources?

Description

Why does training timeout when using a DisplayPort Receiver Subsystem MST design on some sources?

Solution

Some sources are non-compliant with the length of the idle time when streams are disabled causing the DisplayPort Receiver Subsystem to time out.

Support to disable the training timeout has been added to the DisplayPort Receiver Subsystem to resolve this issue, along with an updated driver to disable the timeout when MST is mode is detected.

In addition, some fixes were added to adjust payload settings for MST streams when one of the streams is disabled.

This issue will be resolved in Vivado 2017.1. Users who need this patch are advised to update to Vivado 2017.1 or later.

Vivado 2016.4 users will need the following Subsystem and software driver patches:

2016.4(Xilinx Answer 68455) DisplayPort Receiver Subsystem v2.0 (Rev. 3) - Patch updates for DisplayPort Receiver Subsystem v2.0 (Rev. 3)
2016.4(Xilinx Answer 68631) DisplayPort Receiver Subsystem v2.0 (Rev. 3) - DisplayPort Software Driver v5.1 Patch Download
