HDMI Transmitter (TX) Subsystem - Why might my downstream device have problems detecting the correct output resolution?

Description

Why might my downstream device have problems detecting the correct output resolution?

For example, the downstream device detects the resolution as 1912 or 1916 instead of 1920.

Solution

The following are some possible causes you can check in this situation:

  • Check that the Ti DP159 is being properly updated.
  • Make sure that the GT in the Video PHY has the buffer bypass mode enabled, to ensure that the data on all channels is aligned.
