4.2i Foundation - "ERROR:basilisk:6 - Problem encountered invoking program 'm1map'..."

Description

Keywords: m1map, basilisk, F2.1i

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
When I implement for any FPGA, the following error occurs at the beginning of the "map" phase:

"map -p xc4003e-1-pc84 -o map.ncd design.ngd design.pcf
map: version C.16
ERROR:basilisk:6 - Problem encountered invoking program "m1map".
m1map: Invalid argument."

Solution

1

The error occurs because the path variable is not set correctly. Make sure that "%SystemRoot%\system32" is properly added to your PATH.

For example:

C:\WINNT\system32

2

For Windows 95 or Windows 98, also ensure that the PATH variable is pointing to the correct directory and is visible (to fndtn/bin/nt).

3

From (Xilinx Answer 6815):

If %XILINX% appears in the path instead of the actual install path, modify the path variable by removing %XILINX% and replacing it with the actual install path. (Please note that you must have administrative privileges to modify system variables in Windows NT.) Reboot after the path is modified.
