General Description: While starting up the CORE Generator application on a PC, you may see the following message:
"WARNING: Unable to read preferences from the registry. Continuing with defaults..."
The application subsequently may either fail to start up, or you may experience problems with displaying the PDF format datasheets and calling up the Netscape browser using the embedded links in the CORE Generator application
This warning message has been seen on PC platforms when the XILINX and PATH variables are specified as User Variables instead of System Variables in the user's Windows environment. The failure to read the registry preference settings may prevent the CORE Generator Application from being able to deteremine the location of the user's Netscape web browser and Acrobat PDF file reader.
XILINX and PATH should be specified as System Variables, not User Variables.
Try specifying these as System Variables, then logging out of Windows, then back in again to make sure that the changes have taken effect.
