*Obsolete* 3.1i JTAG Programmer - canceling chain initialization causes Dr. Watson crash on Windows NT

Keywords: bsdl, IDCODE, instruction register, crash, initialize

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
After performing a chain initialization operation on a JTAG chain containing at least one device does not have IDCODE support, JTAG Programmer automatically asks for device identification information such as a bit file, bsdl file, or specific device information.

Attempting to cancel out of entering the information in the Define Device dialog box
on two or more devices causes the software to crash.

In order for the JTAG Programmer software to function properly, this information must be provided. The information needed can be found in the BSDL file for the device under question. If it is a Xilinx device, associating the device configuration file will resolve the issue. If the device is non Xilinx, and does not have a BSDL file, then you will need to contact the device manufacturer.
