3.1i MODULAR MAP: FATAL_ERROR:Portability:basutmsgmanimp.c:1272:1.17 - Maximum message size ...

Keywords: modular, design, assembly, assemble, module

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
During the assembly stage of a Modular design, Guided map is
producing about 580 messages in section 12 of the map report file.
Then it gives the following fatal error message:

FATAL_ERROR:Portability:basutmsgmanimp.c:1272:1.17 - Maximum
message size exceeded. Process will terminate. To resolve this error,
please consult the Answers Database and other online resources at http://support.xilinx.com

The guide reporting code concatenates all of the unguided logic
for the PIMs into one big message and this is why the message
size was exceeding the limit of 4K bytes.

This problem will be fixed in the first 3.1i quarterly release, currently
scheduled for August, 2000.
