3.3 FPGA Express: Can not synthesize Spartan-II device after enabling support and installing the latest service pack.

Keywords : Spartan-II, pts, install, service, pack, synthesize, order, 6

Urgency : Standard

General Description : After enabling support for the Spartan-II device
family and installing the latest service pack, I am unable to synthesize a
Spartan-II device with FPGA Express.

An order dependancy has been seen with the latest service pack, which
differs slightly from the order mentioned on the Service Pack Web Page.

With the install Service Pack 6, the FPGA Express libaries get updated
with the Implementation Update files. Therefore, if the FPGA Express Update
is installed after the Implementation Update, as mentioned on the Web
Page, these library files get over-written. In order to get the most upto date
files, one needs to re-install the Implementation Update after the FPGA Express
Update has been installed. Once the Implementation Update has been installed,
the FPGA Express libraries will be up to date, and synthesis of the Spartan-II
devices will be possible.

After installing the service pack in the corrected order, if you find that there
are specific packages that you are not able to target, then please reference
the following solution which updates the synthesis files to the most up to date
packages for both the Virtex-E and Spartan-II device families.
