4.2isp1 ABEL - ABL2EDIF causes an invalid page fault in module "libtk_xlnxeda.dll"

Description

Keywords: libtk_xlnxeda.dll, ABL2EDIF, ABEL, Dr. Watson, page fault, ISE, Foundation

Urgency: Standard

General Description:
I have just installed the Foundation/Alliance software. When I attempt to compile an ABEL file from a command line or from the Foundation Project Manager, a Dr. Watson error reports an invalid page fault in the module "libtk_xlnxeda.dll".

Solution

This problem occurs when the XABELM1 registry key is not set correctly.

Run "Regedit.exe" to determine whether the following key is set:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/XLNXEDA/Products/XABELM1/paths/bin

If it is set, does the value of this key match the value of your %XILINX% variable (plus bin/nt) when the 4.2i software is run?

If the key is missing or pointing to an invalid location, please manually enter the above key with the correct bin/nt location value.
