General Description:
I am trying to implement my design with the ICON and ILA cores for ChipScope. When I attempt to implement the design, the following error occurs during MAP:

ERROR:basmm:227 - LUT3 symbol
"i_icon/icon_2/u_icon_core/i_eq1to2/1/u_ila_data_tdo1/i1/1/u_lut" (output signal=i_icon/u_icon_core/tdo1_vec_2) has an equation that uses an input pin connected to a trimmed signal. Make sure that all the pins used in the equation for this LUT have signals that are not trimmed (see trim report for details on which signals were trimmed).

Errors found during the mapping phase. Output files will not be written.

Solution

This can be caused by using an ICON core that uses two or more control buses that are not attached to two or more ILA cores -- if you generate an ICON core to use multiple buses and the ILA cores are not used, then these errors may occur.

To work around this problem, implement with the correct number of ILA cores (e.g., if the ICON core was generated for two ILA cores, then both ILA cores must be instantiated).

These errors will occur if an ICON core was generated with "n" number of control buses and implemented with less than "n" number of ILA cores. If the ICON core was generated for "n" number of ILA cores, then "n" number of ILA cores must be instantiated.

This can also be caused by old inserted cores that use more than 64 BRAMs.

A fix for this is included in ChipScope, beginning with the April 2001 release.
