To Execute XSVF/SVF Files
- In the iMPACT Flows panel, double-click Boundary Scan to initiate Boundary-Scan mode.
- Right-click in the Boundary Scan window and select Add Xilinx Device.
Note The Boundary Scan window must be blank. The Boundary-Scan
file cannot be added to a chain which already has devices. You can
only add one Boundary-Scan file to the Boundary Scan window.
- Browse to the XSVF or SVF file you created and add it to
the screen (device icon appears with file name under it).
- Right-click on the device and select Execute
XSVF/SVF.
Note Once the file has been added to the screen,
you can also select Operations > Execute XSVF/SVF.
Note If you select Display Comments in Play SVF in the Configuration Preferences
dialog box (Edit > Preferences > iMPACT > Configuration
Preferences), debug messages will be displayed
in the Console as you execute the XSVF or SVF file. These messages
provide details of the JTAG instructions being executed as the XSVF
or SVF file runs.
This operation
enables you to execute the XSVF or SVF file through the XSVF/SVF player
in iMPACT.
Note SVF files describing erasure or programming
do not work reliably on XC9500\XL\XV devices.
