If the Xilinx Platform Cable USB drivers become corrupt, activity on the cable can cause a Windows blue screen.
To fix the drivers for the Xilinx Platform Cable USB, follow the steps below to uninstall and re-install the drivers:
1. To delete the partially installed or corrupted drivers, uninstall the Xilinx Platform Cable USB driver from the programming cables section of the Device Manager as follows:
a. Select: Settings - Control Panel - System - Device Manager.
b. Expand: Programming cables.
c. Select: Xilinx Platform Cable USB - Driver - Uninstall.
2. Reset the cable by unplugging the USB cable and plugging it back in.
3. Start iMPACT and connect to the USB cable.
