In the OS support for 2017.x software I see that Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.x (RHEL5) is not listed?
See: (Xilinx Answer 54242).
Why was RHEL removed from the supported OS list?
Will Vivado work on RHEL5 and CentOS5?
Xilinx removed RHEL5 from the supported OS list for Vivado because it is officially end-of-life as of Mar 31, 2017 (See: https://access.redhat.com/support/policy/updates/errata).
Unfortunately moving to RHEL6 involved a big change in the gcc compiler which is not binary-compatible with RHEL5. Therefore, it is not anticipated that Vivado will run correctly on RHEL5.
Although CentOS 5 was never officially supported, it is a very similar to RHEL 5 and many users were able to run previous versions of Vivado on CentOS 5.
As with RHEL5, it is not anticipated that Vivado 2017.x will run on CentOS 5.
