Our generational quality report and Xilinx quality manual describe how we achieve this and the infrastructure needed for new and emerging quality needs such as functional safety (ISO26262, IEC61508, DO-254), ISO9001, TL9000, TS16949, MIL-PRF-38535.

Quality Certifications

Xilinx is committed to ensuring the highest levels of compliance across the many standards that govern different industry management systems. Xilinx began this journey more than 2 decades ago.

Today, Xilinx has built these standards into the company's business fabric, so all customers regardless of market, benefit.

  • TL9000/ISO9001 Certification
    Xilinx has a long history of 3rd party Quality Management System (QMS) certification going back as far as 1995. Currently Xilinx QMS and all major Xilinx sites are certified to TL9000/ISO9001 for the design, manufacture, and test of programmable solutions.
  • ISO/TS16949
    Xilinx certification from 2005 to 2010 and still compliant. Our key suppliers are ISO/TS16949 certified.
  • QML per MIL-PRF-38535
    Certification for compliance with the Department of Defense MIL-PRF-38535 performance specification.
  • Stack Certification
    STACK International certification demonstrates Xilinx's over 25-year uninterrupted commitment to the Aerospace and Defense (A&D) industry and extends its existing quality portfolio including ISO 9001 certified for quality management systems and QML Certifications for compliance with the Department of Defense MIL-PRF-38535 performance specification. Xilinx also provides the world's leading Neutron Single Effects testing and characterization capability with its Rosetta program.

Xilinx continues to adopt new emerging standards to improve its management systems and challenge industry bests.

Xilinx has developed a proven multi-generational new product development process. This process has been in place since Virtex-4. It incorporates key diagnostic tools such as process performance learning vehicles, proprietary short loop feedback methodologies with suppliers, rigorous design discipline and best practices using a scalable optimized architecture. The result; zero production errata for our 7-series products.

For UltraScale, Xilinx has extended these methodologies further with improvements in verification, characterization (including system level characterization), test and qualification methodologies prior to product release. The result; Xilinx achieved working first silicon and provided customers functioning devices necessary to begin advancing the latest technology across our core markets.

Absolute quality defines Xilinx’s commitment to excellence. We achieve this by developing control plans, DFMEA and manufacturing PFMEAs. Stringent control processes and maverick controls are focused to prevent quality issues at all stages of manufacturing. Xilinx eliminates significant sources of variability to deliver the highest levels of product quality and reliability by using innovative statistical techniques and near real-time controls.

Xilinx delivers continual improvement through the use of comprehensive root cause analysis to resolve and prevent problems. Together with our suppliers, Xilinx leverages a team-based, Eight Discipline (8D) investigative approach using a data driven verification methodology to develop permanent and effective solutions.

Xilinx regularly plans and executes audits of all aspects of the management systems to validate and verify effectiveness and adherence to defined procedures and standards. Management is dedicated to the timely correction of deficiencies and demonstration of a culture of continual improvement.

Xilinx qualifies all of our products and processes prior to production release. Changes in design, manufacturing, testing, or obsolescence of Xilinx products is communicated following established industry standards.

Xilinx uses JEDEC (JESD46 and JESD48) standards, as the foundation for our customer notification processes related to change or obsolescence. This is supported by a change management infrastructure extended into Xilinx supply chain.
