Kintex-7 FPGA Family

Industry's Best Price-Performance

Kintex™-7 FPGAs establish a new category of FPGAs with high-end performance at less than half the price. The Kintex-7 family is one of three product families built on a common 28nm architecture designed for maximum power efficiency and delivers a 2x price-performance improvement while consuming 50% less power compared to previous generation FPGAs. Kintex-7 FPGAs offer high-density logic, high-performance serial connectivity, memory, and DSP, plus Agile Mixed Signal all to enable higher system-level performance and the next level of integration. These capabilities allow for continued innovation and differentiation in designs at volume price points. EasyPath™-7 devices offer even further cost reduction with a conversion-free path.

Designing with 7 Series FPGA Platforms

Xilinx offers developers access to the power, performance, and productivity advantages of the unified 7 series FPGAs through base-level and domain-specific Targeted Design Platforms. Xilinx Targeted Design Platforms offer designers a complete solution that includes a combination of silicon, software, IP and reference designs. The Kintex-7 FPGA KC705 Evaluation Kit delivers a flexible design platform which demonstrates Xilinx Agile Mixed Signal technology for system designs that require high-performance, serial connectivity and advanced memory interfacing. The Kintex-7 FPGA DSP Kit combines the KC705 base platform plus an integrated high-speed analog module to accelerate advanced DSP designs.

Unified Architecture Enables Scalability and Increases Productivity

Fabricated on a high-performance, low-power (HPL) 28nm process, all 7 series FPGAs share a unified architecture. This innovation enables design migration across the Artix™-7, Kintex-7, and Virtex®-7 FPGA families. System manufacturers can easily scale successful designs to address adjacent markets requiring reduced cost and power or increased performance and capability. The adoption of AMBA 4, AXI4 specification as part of the interconnect strategy supporting Plug-and-Play FPGA design further improves productivity with IP reuse, portability, and predictability.
